New hardware arrives November 13

Apple announced a new Apple TV 4K on October 13, priced at $299, with preorders opening that day and availability beginning November 13. The streaming device includes an A19 chip and three far-field microphones, allowing users to speak to Siri without a remote or paired HomePod.

Siri search and surround sound

The updated Siri AI supports content discovery and questions about shows. Viewers can ask which Apple TV shows won Emmy Awards that year or where “Pluribus” was filmed.

Apple also said the new device supports a four-speaker surround sound experience using HomePod mini 2 or HomePod 2 speakers.

Updated remote works with older models

The new Siri Remote includes a built-in speaker to help users locate it and is available separately for $59. It works with Apple TV models going back to the Apple TV HD and starts shipping November 13.

The remote supports Find My, but precise distance tracking requires an iPhone Duo, iPhone Air or iPhone 17 or later, excluding the iPhone 17e, running the latest iOS software. Availability varies by region. Compatible phones use Bluetooth channel sounding to enable precision tracking without requiring a UWB chip.
