Revised dates
The Africa Prosperity Network (APN) has rescheduled the 2027 Africa Prosperity Dialogues from January 27–29 to January 13–15. The event will be held at the Kempinski Hotel Gold Coast City in Accra.
In a statement issued on October 16, APN said the change would align the forum with the African Union’s calendar and avoid overlapping commitments for African leaders and other participants.
Aligning with the AU calendar
The AU Summit is scheduled for January 30–31, 2027, in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, preceded by Executive Council meetings on January 27–28. APN also cited the need to accommodate Ramadan, expected to begin on the evening of February 7, subject to the sighting of the moon.
The Dialogues traditionally take place about two weeks before the summit, allowing the APD Action Compact to be presented to African leaders. The document sets out private-sector priorities, commitments and recommendations for advancing Africa’s single market agenda.
Free movement, payments and trade
Convened under the patronage of President John Dramani Mahama, the forum will bring together African political and business leaders to discuss free movement, seamless cross-border payments and increased intra-African trade. Its theme is “The Africa We Want Is Borderless. Move Freely. Pay Seamlessly. Trade More.”
Advice for participants
APN apologised to partners, sponsors and delegates for inconvenience caused by the change, particularly those who had already made travel or other arrangements. It urged participants to update their calendars and participation plans, saying its secretariat would assist with enquiries about the rescheduling.
